Feb 16, 2019A bridge is not just for those who live within the province of Salem. It is a part of the infrastructure of the region, feeding through the Salem fiefdom via state highways 22 and 221. Salem City Council members: for whatever reason, the fate of the third bridge rests on your plate. I ask that you support furthering the process with your vote. Your responsibility is to the folks of the region and not just those who live within the city limits. Norm Fairchild Salem Past wall experience shows Trump's wall will be ineffective Trump’s wall is part of the fleecing of America. Think about our 20th-century wall experiences. "Hogan's Heroes" was a funny way to show we defeated German prison walls. The Berlin Airlift showed that no wall was going to stop America. Now we see our existing walls being defeated by the cartels daily. Congress must approve and Trump must accept border security funding with no money for a new wall and no money to pay for eminent domain lawsuits in Texas. Instead, money for “port of entry” security systems, infrared technology, better security for internet incursions, investigations into the issue of temporary Visas and election security. Border crossings are at a low and we need to know why. Many businesses are complying with hiring laws, something Trump businesses have been recently found in violation. We need to investigate all contracts and deals for those businesses and so-called non-profits who are pocketing a ton of extra money.
